We were honored to be invited to be part of the #acallforkindness campaign with @insideverizon!! And worked with our dear friend @pablokalaka to design 2 murals at @ladonacerveza….unfortunately @gretapaints22 got covid right when we were about to paint so Kalaka held it down! The promised 📣 ANNOUNCEMENT! GoodSpace Murals and Common Wealth Murals have teamed up to create the COMMUNITY MURAL INSTITUTE! 💥 And what exactly is CMI??? A unique program dedicated to the training of community muralists. By the end of each institute, local artists will be ready to independently create and install exceptional community-engaged murals, using the best practices in community engagement, organizing through art, and the parachute cloth technique of mural making. The institute will also result in multiple, large scale professional quality murals for your city or community and your artists will finish with new community murals for their portfolios. How do we get a Community Mural Institute for my community? Community Engagement is such a buzz phrase, but there are very few opportunities for local, emerging artists to get trained to do high quality community engagement through the creation of professional murals. As a result, the large, exciting, big-budget commissions often go to out-of town, established artists. We will work with you to uniquely design an institute to train 6-12 local artists and in the process of training, create multiple, large-scale murals for your community. You will invest in your local arts community and get beautiful murals in the process! Message us to meet and talk through the possibilities of a CMI coming to you! #communitymuralinstitute

👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Reschedule Notice for our Heritage Mural in Bismarck, ND– Life is a Hobbit’s Journey: The community mural process is in need of additional input. As this is the first time ever in ND that a space will be activated with a mural in this way, the installation is on pause to allow for inter-agency dialog and partnership. The path being created, right now, will be a road map for more murals in the future. We are so grateful for your participation to-date. We would not and could not be where we are without you. Aaaaand that's a wrap on our #communitymuralinstitute! We have had an INCREDIBLE couple of months with our Fitchburg crew! We could not have asked for a better team. Working with the community, the city, and each other, they put up three murals and we could not be more proud of their dedication, hard work, and initiative! Our hearts are FULL! A BIG thank you to the City of Fitchburg for working with us on this project. We had an amazing time! Join us to celebrate these murals On Sunday, June 26th at 1pm at 5 Boulder Drive, 1:45pm at Putnam Street, and Monday June 27th at 5pm at 94 Boulder Street in Fitchburg MA! A couple of weeks ago we kicked off our second ever Community Mural Institute, and we COULD NOT BE MORE EXCITED about this group of artists! In partnership with @common.wealth.murals and the City of Fitchburg, the CMI brings together 12 local artists to learn the process of community muralism. Over the next few months, the CMI crew will be working to create and install 3 community-engaged murals in Fitchburg MA.
